Blocking a business on your Shakepay Card stops all future transactions from that merchant, including subscription or recurring charges. Here’s how it works:

How do I block a business?

You can block a business directly from one of your recent transactions.

  1. Open the Shakepay app and log in.

  2. Tap the Card icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Scroll to Latest transactions.

  4. Select a transaction from the merchant you want to block.

  5. Tap Block this business.

  6. Tap Block to confirm.

Can I block a merchant I’ve never transacted with?

No.
You must have at least one completed transaction with a merchant in order to block them. If you have never used your Shakepay Card with that business, you will not be able to block it.

How can I unblock a merchant?

You can unblock a merchant from the transaction details or from your settings.

To unblock through Settings:

  1. Open the Shakepay app and log in.

  2. Tap the Settings (gear) icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Scroll down and tap Blocked businesses.

  4. Select the business you want to unblock.

  5. Tap Unblock.

Does blocking a business prevent subscription or recurring charges?

Yes.
Blocking a business stops all future charges from that merchant, including subscription payments and recurring billing.

Does blocking a business cancel my subscription to that service?

No.
Blocking a business won't cancel a subscription or service - it only stops new charges from being approved on your Shakepay Card. If you’re trying to fully cancel something, you’ll still need to contact the business directly.
