Why is Shakepay only available in Canada?

Shakepay operates as a regulated Money Services Business (MSB) and must adhere to specific laws and regulations in each country.

Currently, Shakepay is licensed to operate exclusively in Canada, which is why the platform is only accessible to Canadian residents.


Can I use Shakepay while living or traveling outside of Canada?

If you're traveling outside of Canada, your Shakepay account may experience limited functionality.

If you encounter a message saying, “This action can’t be performed from outside of Canada,” please reach out to our Customer Support Team by following these steps:

  1. Click on Settings (⚙️ icon) at the bottom right of the app

  2. Click Help

  3. Click Support chat

  4. Click Send us a message
