How to open a Shakepay account for your organization

Want to open a Shakepay business account? No problem!

Canadian organizations of the following types are able to create a Shakepay account:

  • Corporations

  • Partnerships

  • Trusts

  • Non-profit organizations

Please note, Money Services Businesses (MSBs) can't open Shakepay business accounts.

How to open a business account?

  1. Go to the web sign up form. Enter an email address, username, and password.

  2. Read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy thoroughly before agreeing to them.

  3. Then tap on Sign up as a business.

  4. Enter a Canadian mobile number. This number is used for authenticating your Shakepay account via two-factor authentication and does not have to be the business contact number. We'll be asking for a contact number in the following step.

5. Enter company information.
If you are registered with FINTRAC or Revenu Québec, let us know by checking the box. If you don't know what this is, you can keep it unchecked.

6. Upload your organization documents following the instructions on the page. More information about business documents can be found here.

7. Shakepay will review your application within 7 days.
