How do I cancel my Shakepay Card?

How to cancel your Shakepay Card:

  1. Sign in to your Shakepay account

  2. Click on the "Settings" icon on the bottom right corner (⚙️)

  3. Click on "Card Settings"

  4. Tap on "Cancel Card"

Common Reasons for Canceling a Shakepay Card

  • Unauthorized Transactions: These include fraudulent activity or charges from services like Uber Eats. Cancelling ensures no additional unauthorized charges occur.

  • Subscription Disputes: Cancelling the card prevents further charges from unresolved subscriptions.

Best Practices for Managing Your Shakepay Card

  • Avoid frequent cancellations, as it could flag security issues and lead to potential restrictions on your account.

  • If you suspect unauthorized activities on your card, cancel it promptly and monitor your account closely for any unusual activities.

Note: Cancelling your Shakepay Card does not deactivate your Shakepay account.

You will be able to opt back into the card program at any time and a new card will be issued to you!

Setting Up Your New Shakepay Card

After cancelling your existing card, here’s how to set up a new one:

  1. Reissue Your Card:

    • Once the Shakepay app registers your cancellation, follow the prompt to set up a replacement card.

  2. Enable Apple Pay or Google Pay (Optional):

    • For Apple Pay:

      1. Access Shakepay Card settings in your app.

      2. Tap 'Add to Apple Wallet' and follow the setup instructions.

    • For Google Pay:

      • Locate the wallet instructions and follow the similar setup paths.

  3. Tap-and-Pay Usage Notes:

    • Digital payments via wallets (Apple Pay/Google Pay) may have limitations (e.g., $25 per transaction) based on merchants.

    • Ensure to clear or discontinue the subscription service to avoid future charges to your card.
