Why is my card order on hold?

If you started a card order but dropped off the process before you set a PIN then we can’t complete your card order. We’ll notify you that your card order is on hold and you can re-visit the app and finish setting your PIN from the card tab to complete your order.

How long will it take to receive my physical Shakepay Card?

Regardless of where you live in Canada you should receive your Shakepay Card within 14 days of your order date.

After you submit your order, you’ll see an expected delivery date on the card tab of the app. Most cards should be delivered within that time frame. If your card doesn’t arrive by that date, follow the steps in-app to notify us of the delivery issue and complete a new order.

Most delivery issues are the result of an incorrectly entered address or missing suite number. Please double check your address before submitting an order.

Shakepay Cards are shipped using Canada Post regular mail, do not have tracking, and are subject to unexpected delivery delays. If we’re aware of an upcoming delivery delay we will notify you by email.

Can I use a PO Box as my shipping address?

No, Shakepay does not accept Post Office box or PO Box addresses for Shakepay Card shipping at this time.

How do I change my shipping address?

Once you’ve submitted a card order, you can’t change the address for that card. If you know you’ve provided the wrong address, contact support to have the card cancelled so that you can order a replacement with your correct address.

Anytime you order a Shakepay Card we ask you to provide a new address or select from a previous address before completing your order.

If you’re not in the process of ordering a card and need to change your address, you can do so at any time by tapping the settings icon on the home tab > Account settings > Profile information > Change address.

How do I activate my physical Shakepay Card?

  1. Scan the QR code on the card carrier that your physical card is attached to or select “Activate card” on the card tab in the Shakepay app.

  3. Your card is activated!

What do I do if I forgot my physical Shakepay Card PIN?

If you forgot your PIN, you can view it anytime in the app by tapping the settings icon on the card tab > View PIN.

  1. Tap “Replace card”

  2. Tap “Damaged or not working”

  3. Complete the process of ordering a new physical card.

You can continue to use your card details for online transactions and in your Apple or Google Wallet while you wait for your new card to arrive.

Note: Your card’s 16 digit number, expiry, and CVV will not change when the reason for replacing a card is “damaged”.

What should I do if I’ve lost my card?

If you’ve lost your card but expect to find it, lock it in the app from the card tab.

If your card is permanently lost or stolen, report it immediately and order a replacement by tapping the settings icon in the Card tab > Replace card > Lost or stolen.

You’ll get a new virtual card while you wait for your new physical card. Your replacement card will have new card details (number, expiry date, and CVV), so you may need to update any recurring payments linked to your old card.

I reported my card lost or stolen but I’m still being charged by merchants?

If you replaced a stolen card, you may still see charges from merchants you previously paid through Apple Pay or other digital wallets.

This happens because when you add your new card to Apple Wallet, Apple may automatically share the updated card details with some merchants so subscriptions and recurring payments continue without interruption, even though your old card was cancelled.

If the charge is valid, no action is needed. If not, contact the merchant to cancel or request a refund.

What’s my billing address for my Shakepay Card?

Your billing address is the same as your shipping address the card was sent to.

To change the billing address associated with your card, tap the settings icon on the home tab > Account settings > Profile information > Change address.
