How to resolve a 412 error on an e-Transfer

Updated over a week ago

When you see a 412 error on an e-Transfer you sent from your bank to Shakepay, it means that your sending bank has not yet verified the funds, and we will be unable to deposit the funds until they release them.

If your e-Transfer is showing a 412 error, please try these steps:

  1. Call your sending bank and ask to speak to the e-Transfer or fraud team, it helps to be specific asking to resolve your 412 error. Depending on your bank, you may be required to answer some questions to ensure the safety of your funds.

  2. Once the bank has released the funds, please send a reminder on the e-Tranfer to have it updated and deposited to Shakepay.

  3. Another option is to cancel the e-Transfer from your sending bank’s website or banking app, and send a new one.

If you have completed the above and still have not received your e-Transfer, please reach out to our support team, we will be happy to help.
